There was prejudice that there is no domestic SaaS service that can implement as many functions as overseas services. However, since using Watap monitoring, that bias has completely disappeared. Since the required functions can be easily found and used, the barriers to entry into monitoring are also lowered, It can be easily used not only for development work but also for UI/UX improvement work.

Pivoting (Pivoting) is a sports term meaning 'moving the axis'. A word derived from pivot (Pivot), which means rotating one foot around an axis in ball games (basketball, handball, badminton). Pivoting is being used in a different sense in business. If you're running a business or working in a startup, you've probably heard the term pivoting. We are trying a lot to shift existing business items in a different direction when market conditions or when results are not as expected.

The same goes for the customer “Rise ENM”, which uses the Watap Startup Package. Rise E&M is a service that brings together more than 40 live commerce platforms to provide users RiseIt was operating. Rise Service A service that provides video or image product information and purchases based on operational know-how, AI technology, and vision technology Turn upWe are developing

The turnup service is currently undergoing beta testing ahead of the official launch. As it is about to be officially launched, development is being carried out according to the required schedule. It is said that they chose Watap monitoring to ensure stability while developing a new service. We met directly with Mr. Yoo Won-geun from the Rise Enm development team and conducted an interview on the reasons for recommending a startup package, starting with Watap, which can quickly handle errors and manage performance.

Introduction: Introduction to customers and the state of infrastructure

Please introduce Rise ENM's company and tell us about Mr. Won Geun's duties.

Rise ENM is a platform service that curates information by gathering more than 40 platforms in one place through the “Rise” app. Using AI technology, we recommend real-time live commerce based on Rise scannerbot, user-specific recommendation algorithms, and live commerce specific data.

Rise E&M is an early startup with a total of 6 people. I'm a member of the development team, but in addition to development, I also work on other tasks such as design and marketing.

How is Rise Enm's IT infrastructure environment structured?

The services we operate at RISE ENM are divided, and we use a cloud for each purpose even in a single service. The Rise service uses AWS as the main engine in conjunction with Naver Cloud, and infrastructure has been built along with NHN Cloud with Azure as the main turn-up service currently under development.

I'm curious about the background and path that led me to choose Watab at RISE ENM.

I used one of the overseas monitoring services, but the disadvantage was that the text size was small and the readability was poor. Also, another monitoring service that was nominated was less accessible because the UI had too many features.

The monitoring services that were initially nominated for implementation were all supported in English, and there was no Korean support. Although developers and engineers say that the language restrictions applied to the service have gradually disappeared, they were excluded from the nomination due to the inconvenience of not being able to check the service introduction page and pricing policy in Korean.

Then, on my way home from work, I saw a Wattap subway advertisement posted at Yangjae Station. When I searched for WhaTap Labs, I was impressed by the fact that it is a monitoring service provided in Korea.

As a service developer, please tell me how often Won-geun uses Watap monitoring.

As an early startup and pivoting services, operating existing services is also important, but since they are immersed in developing new functions, they spend more time coding rather than monitoring. Even if I spend more time developing, I always have Watap monitoring on the browser tab and check performance by occasionally looking at where there are problems.

Challenge: From introduction to WhaTap to user reviews

Was there anything you were worried about before WhaTap was introduced? Please tell us if there were any difficulties with the actual implementation.

When installing database monitoring, it was a bit difficult because the method was different. Other than the fact that it took a while to apply managed monitoring such as AWS Elastic Beanstalk, I didn't experience any major difficulties because I read and followed the Watap guide documentation and the installation guide on the YouTube channel.

What do you think is the advantage of WTAP compared to the monitoring service you've used before?

There was a preconceived notion that domestic SaaS monitoring services did not have the features that developers or engineers wanted. In fact, there was a tendency for me and those around me to prefer overseas SaaS services. However, after using Watab, I learned that this preconception was biased.

In the case of overseas monitoring, there are many functions, but it was difficult to find those functions and get used to them. It was a pity that there wasn't enough manpower and time to find the features I wanted due to the language barrier. On the other hand, it was nice that Watap was easy to access and my team was able to easily find and use the features I wanted.

Are there any popular screens and features in the Watap service?

The most viewed screens are Project List View and Flex Board. While I was using various functions to get used to the dashboard, I used the flex board, which was really convenient. The advantage of Flex Board was that we could freely place the key indicators of application, server, and database monitoring that we use on the dashboard, so we could check performance indicators without having to check the monitoring projects one by one. It is one of the frequently used functions because it can be quickly set up without looking at the guide document, and since a template is also provided, indicators can be flexibly modified and added according to the user's convenience.

How did WTAP help in improving the service?

It helped me a lot when tracking distributed server logs or traffic. When it comes to deployment and testing, I tend to pay more attention to modification and development rather than servers after completing automated construction. Learning information such as SQL helped me a lot in debugging errors in a production environment.

Recently, I caught an unexpected slow query with Watap a few days ago. Longer processing times can be a hindrance, and we were able to reduce the time to find slow queries and resolve issues.

Management: Watap customer support service and startup package reviews

I understand that Rise Service is currently pivoting (Pivoting) as a turn-up service. Why is monitoring recommended for startups that pivot services?

For startups that create multiple items or business models to try and quickly transition to the market, development speed is paramount. New features must be developed continuously, but there is a shortage of manpower, so if a server is built, there is a shortage of time and manpower to worry about operation.

To solve this problem, Watab was introduced. We were able to reduce unnecessary work by being able to focus on development along with stable operation. For startups like us that need to create new services and business models, I'm convinced there's no better option than Watap.

You are using the Watap Startup Package Promotion Service at RISE ENM. I wonder why the startup package is recommended for early-stage startups.

Apparently it's a small startup, so the biggest concern about manpower was the cost. Since the Watap Startup Package offers a monitoring package at a reasonable price, I immediately applied for it without hesitation.

In startups, the infrastructure environment changes depending on the direction of service development, and application languages sometimes change. Sometimes the service environment being developed may change, so there is a burden of fee fluctuations. However, it was nice to be able to use the startup package promotion for the same monthly fee.

Since you can use all services without restrictions while paying a fixed fee for 1 year, the Wattap Startup Package is not an option but a must if you are burdened with the initial costs.

WhaTap, the integrated monitoring platform trusted by over 1,200 companies. Experience it today.
